As of now, the Swiss charging station manufacturer is supplying Hyundai Switzerland with its charging stations for four battery electric models and three plug-in hybrids.

Juice Technology AG, manufacturer of charging stations and software, leader in mobile charging stations for electric vehicles, strengthens the partnership with Hyundai Switzerland. The Juice charging stations are now officially integrated into the Hyundai Switzerland configurator and are also available through the Hyundai accessories page.

The switch from fossil fuels to alternative drive systems is a trend which has already been firmly anchored in Hyundai’s strategy for some time. This is reflected in the strong range of electric models, among other things. Today, three out of four Hyundai models are available in versions with partial or full electric drive.

JUICE BOOSTER 2 and IONIQ 5 – a dream team

As part of its electric offensive, Hyundai Switzerland has stepped up its collaboration with Juice Technology. The Electric and Electric Facelift KONA models, which are very successful in Switzerland, the plug-in hybrid variants of the IONIQ, TUCSON and SANTA FE, as well as the IONIQ Electric, and the IONIQ 5, which was recently chosen as the “Swiss Car of the Year 2022”, are directly configurable with the JUICE BOOSTER 2, JUICE CHARGER 2 and JUICE PHASER. Together with the appropriate adapters and accessories, drivers of electric vehicles get a full service package right from the outset which facilitates large ranges and fast charging.

“Two things are required for the wider distribution of electromobility in the general population: affordable vehicle models and charging infrastructure which is readily available and easy to use. That’s why I am particularly delighted by the partnership with Hyundai, a company for which efficiency, safety and suitability for everyday use are as important as they are for us,” says Christoph Erni, CEO of Juice Technology AG. “Hyundai customers now have direct access to an ideal charging solution which is tailored to their needs, at the highest level of technology and extremely user-friendly.”

Juice Technology AG is a leader in the development and production of mobile charging stations through to charging and load management for large parking areas and car parks. As one of the few full-range providers in the industry with mobile and fixed AC and DC charging stations and charging accelerators in its range, Juice has the right equipment for every available and newly launched electric vehicle.

There is a huge boom in interest in electric vehicles. Even so, there is still a mental hurdle for prospective buyers owing to concerns about range being too low or supposedly complex connection at charging stations. The Juice Technology portfolio offers solutions which have the potential to overcome fears of this nature because they are developed entirely from the user’s perspective.

With the JUICE BOOSTER 2, Hyundai customers now also have a mobile wall box to hand when buying a vehicle. Thanks to comprehensive adapter sets, it can be connected to any conventional socket. The JUICE CHARGER 2 also offers a charging station for public spaces, at which payment is possible with a credit card and not just with a charging card as is the case with other providers. The range is rounded out with a charging accelerator for all vehicles with single-phase charging.

  1. JUICE BOOSTER 2: With this flexible charging station, the electric vehicle can be charged at any conventional domestic or industrial plug socket around the world. The charging device has automatic output detection, is waterproof and dust-proof (IP 67) and can be driven over with a wheel load of up to three tonnes.
The JUICE BOOSTER 2 is the first mobile charging station in the world in the 22 kW power class to be tested by TÜV SÜD in accordance with IEC 62752 Ed. 1 2016 including AMD1 2018.
  2. JUICE CHARGER 2: This intelligent wall charging station fits elegantly into its surroundings: indoors, outdoors, in the private or public domain. It allows for single-phase to three-phase charging at up to 32 amps and is compatible with all electric vehicles which have a type 2 or type 1 connection.
The JUICE CHARGER 2 has integrated residual current detection, a gauged MID electricity meter and is equipped for the smartJUICE omni-dynamic charging and load management system. The housing is hose-proof and dust-proof in accordance with IP 65. The wall box is quick and simple to install and is eligible for financial support from the KfW (Credit Institute for Reconstruction) in Germany.
  3. JUICE PHASER: Single-phase electric vehicles charge almost twice as fast with this charging accelerator. With the JUICE PHASER, it is possible to charge at 25 amps and 5.8 kW (instead of at a maximum of 3.7 kW) – with a load of just 16 amps on the grid – without generating an imbalanced load. Its housing is hose-proof and dust-proof in accordance with IP 65. The JUICE BOOSTER 2 can be connected to the JUICE PHASER using the JUICE CONNECTOR.
  4. Hyundai models: Models which can be combined with the Juice charging stations in the Hyundai configurator are the KONA Electric and Electric Facelift, IONIQ Electric and IONIQ 5 as well as the plug-in hybrid versions of the IONIQ, TUCSON and SANTA FE.

About Juice Technology

Juice Technology AG, with its headquarters in Cham (Zug, Switzerland), is a globally active manufacturer of charging solutions for electric vehicles. The company’s extensive product portfolio, with AC and DC charging stations ranging from light mobile devices through to large fast chargers, makes it one of a very small number of full-range providers in the industry. Juice has dominated the market in mobile 22 kW charging stations since 2014.

The crucial difference to other solutions available on the market is the consistent software orientation. All devices designated “J+” are based on the same processor and the same firmware, which means they are compatible with one another. Juice saves on time, effort and costs by using its own consistent software architecture. Solutions such as omni-dynamic load management, payment by credit card or the open interface backend are therefore available throughout the product range.

The Juice Group has global reach with its own sites, subsidiaries and affiliates. Juice Services AG, Juice Telemetrics AG, Juice Europe GmbH in Germany with a subsidiary in Munich, Juice Iberia S.L. in Malaga, Zhejiang Juice Technology Co., Ltd in Hangzhou, China and Juice Americas Inc. in St. Petersburg, FL, USA are part of the group of companies. It also has a global network of resellers. More than 170 people currently work in the research and development, production, marketing, administration, purchasing and sales, and logistics departments.
