JUICE BOOSTER 2 from Juice Technology AG successfully tested by TÜV SÜD according to IEC 62752
Juice Technology AG, a leading manufacturer of mobile charging stations for electric cars, announces the TÜV SÜD certification of the JUICE BOOSTER 2. The global company is the first manufacturer to have its mobile charging station in the 22 kW power class successfully tested by TÜV SÜD according to the current specifications of IEC 62752.
For Juice Technology AG, quality and safety, along with user-friendliness and ease of use, are top priorities in the development and manufacture of all charging stations and solutions. For this reason, it was a matter close to the heart of the Swiss company to make this visible to its global customer base and to have it certified by an independent body.
The harmonized standard IEC 62752 applies worldwide to mobile charging stations. This complex, almost two-centimeter-thick document with technical requirements and test regulations guarantees safe and reliable charging stations. Anyone who prints the well-known CE marking on their device confirms that their product complies with the specific European guidelines. "Unfortunately, in our young industry there are products on the market that do not conform to the standards. However, the customer must be able to rely on the functionality and safety of the charging infrastructure without any ifs and buts. The TÜV certification for the JUICE BOOSTER 2 is therefore exemplary and a groundbreaking step," says Krispin Romang, Managing Director of the Swiss electromobility association Swiss eMobility.
"The time was therefore ripe to have a neutral body with experience in e-mobility such as TÜV SÜD confirm that the JUICE BOOSTER 2 complies with the guidelines in every respect," adds Christoph Erni, founder and CEO of Juice Technology AG. The test takes a total of three months. The devices must pass comprehensive electrical and mechanical tests as well as leak, stability and vibration tests. Over 40 JUICE BOOSTER 2s were put through their paces and found to be flawless in every respect.
"The particular challenge when testing such a mobile charging station according to the current standard is that it not only covers electrical safety, but the device must also be tested in other areas such as chemical resistance. Testing according to IEC 62752 gives the customer the assurance that they are purchasing a safe device. For example, this certification differs from the utility value tests carried out by testing organizations abroad, which focus on the use and durability of the device, but do not test the device's safety. This only confirms that the device can be used for the advertised function," says Bernd Kreitmeier, Head of the Energy Systems Department at TÜV SÜD. "The JUICE BOOSTER 2 has successfully passed all tests according to IEC 62752. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Juice Technology AG."
The JUICE BOOSTER 2 was tested according to IEC 62752 Ed. 1 2016 including AMD1 2018.
The most important advantages of the JUICE BOOSTER 2 at a glance:
- Charge at any socket: With the adapters of the JUICE BOOSTER 2, the electric car can be charged at any conventional household and industrial socket worldwide.
- Automatic power detection: The charger is always set to the optimal charging power. This prevents sockets from being overloaded.
- The JUICE BOOSTER 2 is absolutely waterproof (IP 67) and can be driven over with a wheel load of up to three tons.
- On the mains side, adapters for Type 2 and, for travelers to France, Type 3c are also available. This means that the JUICE BOOSTER 2 can also be used at public charging stations, effectively replacing the separate charging cable.
- JUICE CONNECTOR adapter plug: This is CE-compliant and designed to also cover future functions. The investment in the JUICE BOOSTER 2 and the adapters should be sustainable.
- TÜV SÜD-tested: The JUICE BOOSTER 2 is the first mobile charging station in the 22 kW power class worldwide that is TÜV SÜD-tested according to IEC 62752 Ed. 1 2016 including AMD1 2018.
