Juice Technology AG transfers the temperature sensor technology already integrated in the Schuko plug to the household adapters for Switzerland, Italy and the UK

Juice Technology AG, manufacturer of charging stations and software, and leader in mobile charging stations for electric vehicles, is now integrating its patented JUICE CELSIUS temperature sensor into household adapters for Switzerland, Italy and the UK, thus guaranteeing safe and worry-free charging.

The car is always charged wherever it is parked for a longer period of time - usually at work or at home and sometimes via a normal socket if a larger connection is not available. However, household sockets are not designed for this high continuous current load. In addition, older buildings in particular are not always ideally wired or electrical installations are defective, which is why the socket can quickly overheat and, in the worst case, cause fires. Even a socket that has only become dirty over the years from dust that has been pushed in can overheat dangerously and cause fire.

Juice Technology AG has addressed this problem and has now integrated the JUICE CELSIUS temperature sensor, which is already present in the Schuko plug, into the household plugs for Switzerland (T12/T13), Italy (Type L) and the UK (Type G). The patented solution ensures absolutely safe charging even with normal household sockets. The household adapters, which have been newly developed from scratch, are all VDE-tested. The angled design prevents the socket sleeves from becoming worn out due to tension and pressure.

Easy communication via the JUICE CONNECTOR

The integrated temperature sensors communicate with the JUICE BOOSTER 2 via the JUICE CONNECTOR plug connection. If the plug registers possible overheating, it sends a signal to the mobile charging station, which can then reduce the charge in a controlled manner. This means that no damage is caused to the socket or the battery of the electric car.

As soon as the pins have returned to a normal temperature, the charging process starts again. Three restarts, some with gradually reduced power, ensure that the vehicle is still charged in the morning. If the plug gets too hot on the third attempt, the charging cycle is completely interrupted for the safety of the user.

The JUICE CELSIUS is now integrated into all Schuko, T12/T13, Type G and Type L adapters of the JUICE BOOSTER 2. At no extra cost to the consumer: the set prices remain the same.

Origin and Fighting of Cable Fires

  1. Cause: Overloaded cables and defective electrical installations as well as conducting too much current through weak cables can lead to cable fires. Another cause is too many electronic devices connected to a multiple socket.
  2. Anticipate: Smoldering and cable fires usually start in walls and are therefore only noticed very late. Nevertheless, there are various signs: crackling noises or sparks when electrical devices or light switches are switched on and off, fuses repeatedly blowing, inexplicable loose connections and flickering lamps, and picture disturbances on the television.
  3. Prevention: Only purchase essential electrical devices from reputable retailers such as Juice Technology resellers. Cheap devices and sockets break down much more often when subjected to excessive electrical stress than high-quality devices. The plugs of devices that are not in use should always be unplugged.
