Juice Technology AG announces the founding of Juice UK and Ireland Ltd

Juice Technology AG, manufacturer of charging stations and software, and leader in mobile charging stations for electric vehicles, is expanding its field of activity into the Anglo-Saxon region and establishing the subsidiary Juice UK and Ireland Ltd with headquarters in London.

"The juice is already there, all you have to do is make it accessible." With this bold motto, the successful Swiss technology company wants to win over the markets in the British Isles. The market entry is the logical continuation of Juice's expansion strategy. Christoph Erni, CEO and founder of Juice Technology AG, is convinced: "The revolution in electromobility is a fact. In order to make it easier for people to switch quickly, not only stationary charging stations like the JUICE CHARGER me are in demand, but also portable wall boxes like the JUICE BOOSTER 2. Juice has been established in the industry for almost eight years and can therefore boast competent know-how and proven Swiss quality."

Portable wallboxes consolidate the charging network
In 2021, the number of public charging stations in the UK increased by a third. There are now 28,000 public charging points for electric vehicles in the UK, 5,100 of which are for DC charging. Including charging infrastructure installed in private homes and businesses, the country has a total of almost 250,000 charging points. The UK government plans to create 145,000 additional charging points per year and to equip every new or newly renovated building with charging spaces from 2022. The aim is to drive decarbonisation and accelerate the switch to electric cars.

Regardless of this, it will take some time to set up a comprehensive charging infrastructure. However, for a daily charge of 30-40 km, it is not necessary to drive to a public charging station. It is enough to plug the car in at work during the day or at home at night. On the one hand, the charging time is not relevant here, and more frequent, slow AC charging also protects the battery. Portable wall boxes close gaps in the charging network by enabling charging exactly where the car is parked for a certain period of time anyway. Thanks to their widespread use, the switch to electromobility can be quick, flexible and cost-effective.

The best charging solution is the one you have at hand
With the JUICE BOOSTER 2, charging is even possible safely using a conventional 3-pin household socket. The mobile wallbox meets all applicable standards, as confirmed by TÜV SÜD, a neutral technical testing organization with experience in e-mobility. This gives customers the certainty that they are using a safe device. The 3-in-1 charger has numerous safety features such as earth conductor monitoring, DC residual current protection and patented temperature monitoring directly on the plug pins.

    3. JUICE BOOSTER 2: With this flexible charging station, electric cars can be charged at any conventional household or industrial socket worldwide. The charger has automatic power detection, is waterproof and dustproof (IP 67) and can be driven over with a wheel load of up to three tons. Type 2 adapters are also available on the mains side. This means that the JUICE BOOSTER 2 can also be used at public charging stations, effectively replacing the separate charging cable. Mounted on the wall, the mobile charger takes the place of a stationary wall box. The JUICE BOOSTER 2 is the world's first mobile charging station in the 22 kW power class that has been certified by TÜV SÜD according to IEC 62752 (Ed. 1 2016 incl. AMD1 2018).
    4. JUICE CHARGER me: The wallbox is completely preconfigured at the factory and ready for immediate use (plug and play). When connected to the charging socket, the charging station automatically recognizes any car that already has the plug-and-charge standard according to ISO 15118 and starts charging immediately. An RFID reader is integrated for all vehicles that do not yet support ISO 15118. Local dynamic charging management in master-slave operation is on board for up to 250 charging stations. In addition, the cloud-based omnidynamic, infinitely scalable charging and load management smartJUICE is available. A version with an MID-certified meter is available for operation with charging/load management.
    5. JUICE FLOW: The robust, high-quality and inexpensive 6 m long Mode 3 charging cable connects every electric car with a Type 2 connection to every public charging station with a Type 2 socket and enables safe three-phase charging with currents of up to 32 amps. The hard silver-plated contact sleeves can withstand tens of thousands of plug-in cycles. In addition, the slats inside the sleeve are milled in a spiral shape to optimally protect the individual contact springs from bending. The plug housing with a strain relief developed by Juice protects the wiring inside the plug and thus ensures maximum safety and durability. JUICE FLOW meets all legal requirements and safety standards according to IEC standards and is TÜV Rheinland-tested.
    6. JUICE PHASER: Single-phase electric cars charge almost twice as fast with this charging accelerator. The JUICE PHASER can be used to charge at 25 A and 5.8 kW (instead of the previous maximum of 3.7 kW) – with a mains load of just 16 A – without generating an unbalanced load. Its housing is IP 65 water-jet-proof and dust-tight. The JUICE BOOSTER 2 can be connected to the JUICE PHASER using the JUICE CONNECTOR.
