Juice Technology AG announces the founding of its subsidiary Juice Iberia SL.

Juice Technology AG, manufacturer of charging stations and software, leader in mobile charging stations for electric vehicles, is strengthening its business activities in Europe and founding the subsidiary Juice Iberia SL with headquarters in Málaga, Spain.

The Parque Tecnológico de Andalucía in the technology hub of Málaga is home to more than 600 companies specialising in technology, including international firms such as Dekra, Google, Oracle, IBM and Siemens. This environment was one of the reasons why this was chosen as the location for the headquarters of the new subsidiary Juice Iberia.

With its strong presence in Central Europe, Swiss charging infrastructure manufacturer Juice is now expanding its geographical reach to the Iberian Peninsula, underlining the importance of the Spanish and Portuguese markets. With the Spanish government's goals of promoting electromobility as part of an economic stimulus package to ensure that a quarter of a million BEVs are on the roads by 2023 and five million by 2030, the time is ripe for Juice to enter the market in this region.

It was clear from the beginning that this step would come sooner or later. Since the company has long-term goals, the perfect timing had to be carefully considered. With an existing customer base in Spain and Portugal, the focus is now increasingly on strategic business.

Christoph Erni, CEO and founder of Juice Technology AG, says: "Politics and business are now sending the right signals. With the interim target of 250,000 electric vehicles by 2023, Spain has set itself an ambitious goal. In order to achieve this goal, a charging infrastructure is also needed outside of the metropolitan regions, especially in places of residence and work."

There are currently only 8,400 public charging points in Spain, most of which are located in metropolitan areas. Energy suppliers, retail chains and joint ventures between petrochemical companies and vehicle manufacturers are committed to the planned expansion to 100,000 charging points by 2023.

"The conditions for rapid development of electromobility in Spain are favorable. The country has an efficient telecommunications and a high-performance transport infrastructure. Added to this is the population's openness to digitalization and innovation," says Manuel Balzer, Managing Director of Juice Iberia.

Manuel Balzer is currently building up the team in Spain. The proven sales management and marketing leader with experience at the recruiting platform Indeed and at IT giants such as Dell and Microsoft discovered his love for electromobility at the Spanish manufacturer Wallbox Chargers. He most recently worked there as Country Manager. Thanks to his in-depth knowledge of the country, culture, language and business customs, Balzer was qualified to set up the team on the Iberian Peninsula.

Juice Technology AG is present at several locations worldwide with its own branches, subsidiaries and partner companies. It also has a global network of resellers. 170 people now work in the areas of development, production, marketing, sales and logistics. The group is now being expanded to include Juice Iberia SL.

About Juice Technology

Juice Technology AG, headquartered in Bachenbülach (Switzerland), is a global manufacturer of charging solutions for electric vehicles. The company's extensive product portfolio of AC and DC charging stations, from light mobile devices to large fast chargers, makes it one of the very few full-range suppliers in the industry. Juice has dominated the global market for mobile 22 kW charging stations since 2014.

The decisive difference to other solutions available on the market is the consistent software orientation. All devices marked with "J+" are based on the same processor and the same firmware, which means they are compatible with each other. By using a single, consistent software architecture, Juice saves a lot of time, effort and money. Solutions such as omnidynamic load management, credit card payment or the interface-open backend are therefore available for the entire product range.

The Juice Group has a global presence with its own locations, subsidiaries and partner companies. Juice Services AG and the German Juice Europe GmbH with a branch in Munich are part of the group. It also has a global network of resellers. A total of over 150 people currently work in the areas of research and development, production, marketing, administration, purchasing and sales, and logistics. The company is currently tripling its turnover every year.
