Juice Technology continues its reforestation campaign to offset the CO2 emissions of its products in Spain
Juice Technology AG, a manufacturer of charging stations and software and a leader in mobile charging stations for electric vehicles, has long been ensuring that as many trees are planted as necessary to neutralize the CO2 emissions of its products. The charging station manufacturer has recently started supporting a project in Spain in this context.
Just one tree is enough to offset the CO2 emissions that arise during the production and transport of a JUICE CHARGER me. Because a tree binds a full 120 kg of CO2 within ten years of being planted, the entire CO2 footprint of a JUICE BOOSTER 2 or a JUICE Phaser will soon be offset. Juice even plants up to twelve trees for its largest charging stations as a contribution to more climate-friendly mobility.
Reforestation with comprehensive effects
A year and a half ago, Juice helped restore forest areas in British Columbia that had been decimated by a devastating forest fire in 2017. This project is now complete for Juice and the company is shifting its commitment to Europe.
In Spain, where Juice has had a subsidiary since this year, there is an urgent need for reforestation in an area whose biodiversity is threatened by large pine and eucalyptus plantations. Here, Juice supports the Lurgaia Fundazioa, which is working to create a continuous forest of native trees as part of One Tree Planted.
The reforestation in the province of Bizkaia is restoring the Undabaso forests, which are part of the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, and will involve planting more than 35 species of trees. If trees are not planted in monocultures and biodiversity is respected, they can easily live for 50 or 100 years. They continuously sequester carbon throughout their lifespan. Trees help purify the air and water, produce oxygen, prevent erosion and provide a carbon-neutral raw material. Reforestation projects also create jobs.
Commitment beyond one's own business area
Electromobility is closely linked to sustainability. This also applies to the charging infrastructure. Quality is the simplest way to make a charging station sustainable. A robust design with high-quality components ensures that the charging station is resistant to physical damage. Another way to ensure a long service life is a fundamental software orientation and constant software updates.
Christoph Erni, founder and CEO of Juice Technology AG, confirms Juice's commitment: "We also offset the grey energy of our products through reforestation projects. More than 332 football fields of forest have already been planted in our name and financed by us, and more are being added all the time. The mobility transition cannot be achieved without widespread electromobility. In order for this to be ecologically sustainable, efforts are needed to keep the ecological footprint as small as possible right from the start. That's why Juice charging stations are designed for longevity," Erni continues.
Juice customers receive a personal tree certificate with information on the amount of CO2 offset and the coordinates of the reforestation area.

About Juice Technology
Juice Technology AG, headquartered in Cham (Zug, Switzerland), is a global manufacturer of charging solutions for electric vehicles. The company's extensive product portfolio of AC and DC charging stations, from light mobile devices to large fast chargers, makes it one of the very few full-range suppliers in the industry. Juice has dominated the global market for mobile 22 kW charging stations since 2014.
The decisive difference to other solutions available on the market is the consistent software orientation. All devices marked with "J+" are based on the same processor and the same firmware, which means they are compatible with each other. By using a single, consistent software architecture, Juice saves a lot of time, effort and money. Solutions such as omnidynamic load management, credit card payment or the interface-open backend are therefore available for the entire product range.
The Juice Group has a global presence with its own locations, subsidiaries and partner companies. The group includes Juice Services AG, Juice Telemetrics AG, the German Juice Europe GmbH with a branch in Munich, Juice Iberia SL in Malaga, Zhejiang Juice Technology Co., Ltd in Hangzhou, China and Juice Americas Inc. in Delaware, USA. It also has a global network of resellers. A total of over 170 people currently work in the areas of research and development, production, marketing, administration, purchasing and sales as well as logistics.
