Juice Technology AG announces the founding of the subsidiary Juice Iberia S.L.

Juice Technology AG, manufacturer of charging stations and software, leader in mobile charging stations for electric vehicles, strengthens its business activities in Europe and founds the subsidiary Juice Iberia S.L with a site in Malaga, Spain.

The Parque Tecnológico de Andalucía in the technology centre of Malaga is home to more than 600 companies specialising in technology, including international companies such as Dekra, Google, Oracle, IBM and Siemens. This environment featured prominently among the reasons why this was chosen as the site for the headquarters of the new subsidiary, Juice Iberia.

With its strong presence in Central Europe, Swiss charging infrastructure manufacturer Juice is now expanding its geographical range to the Iberian Peninsula and thus highlighting the importance of the Spanish and Portuguese market. With the Spanish government’s targets backing the promotion of electromobility within the context of a stimulus package so that a quarter of a million BEVs will be on the roads by 2023, increasing to five million by 2030, the time is ripe for Juice to enter the market in this region.

It was clear from the start that this step would occur sooner or later. Since the company is pursuing long-term goals, the perfect time needed careful consideration. With an established customer base in Spain and Portugal, the focus is now increasingly on the strategic business.

Christoph Erni, CEO and founder of Juice Technology AG, has the following to say about it: “Politics and the economy are now sending the right signals. Spain has set an ambitious goal with the milestone of 250,000 electric vehicles by 2023. Making this goal a reality will require charging infrastructure even outside the metropolitan regions, particularly in residential areas and workplaces.”

There are currently only 8,400 public charging points in Spain, most of which are located in metropolitan regions. Energy providers, retail chains and joint ventures between petrochemicals groups and vehicle manufacturers are committed to the envisaged expansion to 100,000 charging points by 2023.

“The underlying conditions are favourable for the rapid development of electromobility in Spain. The country has efficient telecommunications infrastructure and capable traffic infrastructure. The population are also open to digitalisation and innovations,” says Manuel Balzer, Managing Director of Juice Iberia.

Manuel Balzer is currently building the team in Spain. The proven sales management and marketing leader with experience at the recruiting platform indeed and at IT giants such as Dell and Microsoft discovered his love for electromobility at the Spanish manufacturer Wallbox Chargers. He was most recently employed there as the Country Manager. Balzer is qualified for the expansion on the Iberian Peninsula thanks to his in-depth knowledge of the country, culture, language and business etiquette.

Juice Technology AG is represented in many locations around the world with its own branches, subsidiaries and partner companies. It also has a global network of resellers. By now, 170 people work in the development, production, marketing, sales and logistics divisions. The group is now expanding to include Juice Iberia S.L.

About Juice Technology

Juice Technology AG, with its headquarters in Bachenbülach (Switzerland), is a globally active manufacturer of charging solutions for electric vehicles. The company’s extensive product portfolio, with AC and DC charging stations ranging from light mobile devices through to large fast chargers, makes it one of a very small number of full-range providers in the industry. Juice has dominated the market in mobile 22 kW charging stations since 2014.

The crucial difference to other solutions available on the market is the consistent software orientation. All devices designated “J+” are based on the same processor and the same firmware, which means they are compatible with one another. Juice saves on time, effort and costs by using its own consistent software architecture. Solutions such as omni-dynamic load management, payment by credit card or the open interface backend are therefore available throughout the product range.

The Juice Group has global reach with its own sites, subsidiaries and affiliates. Juice Services AG and Juice Europe GmbH in Germany with a subsidiary in Munich are part of the group of companies. It also has a global network of resellers. More than 150 people currently work in the research and development, production, marketing, administration, purchasing and sales, and logistics departments. The company is currently tripling its turnover every year.
