JUICE BOOSTER 2 from Juice Technology AG successfully tested by TÜV SÜD in accordance with IEC 62752

Juice Technology AG, leading manufacturer of mobile charging stations for electric vehicles, announces TÜV SÜD certification of the JUICE BOOSTER 2. The globally active company is the first manufacturer to successfully have its mobile charging station in the 22 kW power class tested by TÜV SÜD in accordance with the current specifications of IEC 62752.

For Juice Technology AG, quality and safety, as well as user-friendliness and ease of operation, are the top priority in the development and production of all charging stations and solutions. For this reason, the Swiss company was very keen to make this visible to its global customers as well and to have it certified by an independent body.

The harmonised standard IEC 62752 applies globally for mobile charging stations. This complex, almost two centimetre thick work with technical requirements and test specifications guarantees safe and reliable charging stations. Anyone who prints the familiar CE symbol on their device thus certifies that their product complies with the specific applicable European directives. “In our young industry, there are sadly products on the market which do not comply with the standards. However, the customer must be able to rely on the functionality and safety of the charging infrastructure, no ifs, no buts. TÜV certification of the JUICE BOOSTER 2 therefore sets an example and is a groundbreaking step,” Krispin Romang, Managing Director of the Swiss electromobility association, Swiss eMobility.

Bernd Kreitmeier, Head of Department Energy Systems at TÜV SÜD and Christoph Gewohn, Business Development Manager at Juice Technology

“All the more reason why it was high time to have a neutral body with experience in e-mobility, such as TÜV SÜD, verify that the JUICE BOOSTER 2 complies with the guidelines in every respect,” adds Christoph Erni, founder and CEO of Juice Technology AG. The testing took a total of three months. The devices have to pass comprehensive electrical and mechanical tests as well as leak tests, stability tests and vibration tests. More than 40 JUICE BOOSTER 2 units were put through their paces and found to be impeccable in every respect.

“The particular challenge in the testing of such a mobile charging station in accordance with the current standard lies in the fact that it covers more than just electrical safety. The device must also be tested in other areas such as chemical resistance. Testing in accordance with IEC 62752 gives the customers peace of mind that they are buying a safe device. This certification thus differs from usability testing carried out by testing organisations abroad, for example, which focuses on the use and durability of the device but does not test device safety. This simply confirms that the device can be used for the function for which it was purchased,” says Bernd Kreitmeier, Head of Department Energy Systems at TÜV SÜD. “The JUICE BOOSTER 2 has successfully passed all of the tests in accordance with IEC 62752. We would like to take this opportunity to warmly congratulate Juice Technology AG.”

The JUICE BOOSTER 2 was tested in accordance with IEC 62752 Ed. 1 2016 including AMD1 2018.

The main benefits of the JUICE BOOSTER 2 at a glance:

  1. Charge at any socket: With the JUICE BOOSTER 2 adapters, the electric vehicle can be charged at any conventional domestic or industrial plug socket around the world.
  2.  Automatic output detection: The charging device is always set to the optimum charging capacity. This prevents overloading of sockets.
  3. The JUICE BOOSTER 2 is absolutely waterproof (IP 67) and can be driven over with a wheel load of up to three tonnes.
  4. Adapters for type 2 and, for travellers in France, type 3c are also available on the mains side. The JUICE BOOSTER 2 can therefore also be used at public charging stations and therefore effectively replaces a separate charging cable.
  5. JUICE CONNECTOR adapter plug: This is CE-compliant and designed such that it can also cover future functions. Because investing in the JUICE BOOSTER 2 and the adapters should be sustainable.
  6. TÜV SÜD certified: The JUICE BOOSTER 2 is the first mobile charging station in the world in the 22 kW power class to be tested by TÜV SÜD in accordance with IEC 62752 Ed. 1 2016 including AMD1 2018.
