Swiss charging station manufacturer Juice Technology AG presents the new JUICE CHARGER 2

Juice Technology AG, leading manufacturer of mobile charging stations for electric vehicles, once again presents a world first in the field of charging solutions and charging infrastructure. The smart JUICE CHARGER 2 wall box now has a contactless credit card payment function in addition to all standard payment options and is available now.

The JUICE CHARGER 2 is the intelligent 22 kW wall box which can now also take payments via credit card, ApplePay and GooglePay. Identification, activation, control and billing are child’s play at the smart wall charging station thanks to integrated NFC and RFID readers and the smart modules for smartJUICE, accessJUICE, payJUICE and billJUICE (at no extra cost). The means of payment is held against the wall box once to start the charging process. Billing only occurs after charging and the exact amount is automatically charged when the charging process is ended. In contrast to other solutions available on the market, repeat confirmation is not required to end and there is no need to enter a fixed charging amount. This makes the JUICE CHARGER 2 an advanced, smart charging station and is what makes it so unique.

“The highlight of this wall box is definitely the credit card payment function. Drivers of electric vehicles should not be trained to need to use a different app or charging card for every charging station. Nowadays, everyone has a credit card, debit card or smartphone with them, which is why it was obvious to us that we should integrate this payment option into our JUICE CHARGER 2,” says Christoph Erni, founder and CEO of Juice Technology AG. “Design that doesn’t get in the way of functionality, as well as safety, usability and future-proofing were the guiding attributes which our JUICE CHARGER 2 should fulfil. And we succeeded in that.”

The JUICE CHARGER 2 impresses with its timeless design and fits seamlessly into any architectural environment without distracting from the overall appearance. Visually reduced to the key aspects, it also impresses with functionality and high-quality materials. The chrome steel housing is completely weather-proof. The cable suspension and robust connector mounting also prevent induction loops and soiling of the charging plug. The wall charging station has all the key safety features and also meets all requirements of the standards applicable around the world (CE-compliant) without fail.

In additional to functionality, the JUICE CHARGER 2 also provides future-proofing above all. It is compatible with all existing and new electric vehicles which have a type 2 or type 1 connection. It is controlled via the high-resolution, simple and easy-to-use touch display. The NFC/RFID reader, which can be used for payment by credit card and all other common payment methods such as ApplePay or GooglePay, is located above the display.

The JUICE CHARGER 2 is also suitable for use in public spaces. Thanks to the gauged electricity meter, billing is exact and transparent.

Juice Technology AG is once again setting new standards in the field of infrastructure with this development – and the sales confirm its success. The company already had to crank production up to five lines in January and is currently manufacturing around the clock in order to keep up with demand.

The wall charging station is available in three different basic versions: as a classic wall box (fixed), as a flex variant in which the integrated JUICE BOOSTER 2 (mobile 22 kW charging station), certified by TÜV SÜD, can be removed, or as the flat variant if only the housing is required (if the JUICE BOOSTER 2 is already available).

  6. The wall box is quick and simple to install. It can be connected by any qualified electrician without any time-consuming training courses or certifications.
  7. Available in three different variants: Fixed, flex, flat.
  8. Billing is exact thanks to a gauged MID meter.
  9. The JUICE CHARGER 2 offers maximum flexibility for the user thanks to the option of removing the integrated JUICE BOOSTER 2 contained within.
  10. The integrated JUICE BOOSTER 2 is certified by TÜV SÜD in accordance with the current standard IEC 62752 and is the first mobile 22 kW charging station to be successfully certified.
