Juice Technology AG, manufacturer of charging stations and software, leader in mobile charging stations for electric vehicles, presents a simple, compact wall box in the JUICE CHARGER me which is eligible for financial support from the KfW (Credit Institute for Reconstruction) and can be connected in no time. It is one of the first AC charging stations to have the ‘Plug and Play’ standard. It is networked, has on-board charging and load management and, with its features, is also unbeatable on price. Juice is also offering a EUR/CHF 100 promotion on the first 3000 JUICE CHARGER me units.

The simplest operation with no compromises on functionality and design. These are the qualities of the JUICE CHARGER me, the latest addition to the family at Swiss company Juice Technology. With the JUICE CHARGER me, the simple functionality which is well-known from Tesla Superchargers, for example, is now also available for the home, parking garages and car parks. Because the smart charger is not only great on its own, it is also perfect for use in combination.

‘Plug and Play’ for providers – ‘Plug and Charge’ for customers

Open the case, connect the power cable, put the cover on, and you’re done. One of the benefits of the JUICE CHARGER me is the quick, easy installation. The charging station is delivered fully preconfigured from the factory and is therefore immediately ready for use by the end customer – the installer doesn’t need to make any special settings or implement further supplementary installations. That’s why people rightly talk about ‘Plug and Play’ here.

Activate – plug in – charge: The simplicity continues with the charging process. Coloured LEDs with self-explanatory symbols show the user the current status: Ready, RFID card activation, active charging process. It’s even easier with a ‘Plug and Charge’-capable vehicle. Here, activation occurs immediately upon plugging the charging coupler into the vehicle socket because the station automatically identifies the vehicle. Juice integrates this features into all JUICE CHARGER me units as standard in accordance with ISO 15118 and is therefore once again one step ahead of the competition, who currently offer this function as an optional extra at best.

Communication and load management

In addition to private parking spaces, car ports or home garages, entire parking garages and fleet car parks can be equipped with the JUICE CHARGER me. The smart charger has local dynamic load management for up to 250 units. One device deals with even distribution of the available power to all other stations here. However, whenever more flexibility is required, the infinitely scalable smartJUICE omni-dynamic charging and load management system is the preferred solution. It opens up the possibility of real-time monitoring or prioritisation of individual vehicles, for example. In both cases, only a LAN connection is required. Bluetooth or Wi-Fi are not needed.

The JUICE CHARGER me units communicate not only with each other, but also with the j+ backend via the Ethernet cable. For public use of the wall box, at a hotel, golf club or fitness centre, for example, this allows for continuous usage statistics and gives the operator the option of managing billing. In order to guarantee operation with charging/load management, systems with two or more stations are always equipped with MID-certified electricity meters. A meter can also be integrated into individual charging stations upon request.

Made in Germany and eligible for financial support from the KfW

All components of the JUICE CHARGER me are manufactured and assembled in Germany. It is therefore also clear that a Made in Germany wall box doesn’t have to be expensive. For German customers, there is another benefit: The charger is eligible for financial support from the KfW – and without an additional payment.

In addition to the German KfW financial support, Juice is offering a bonus of EUR/CHF 100 on the first 3000 JUICE CHARGER me units. Christoph Erni: “We are celebrating successes around the world with the JUICE BOOSTER 2 mobile wall box. We have decided to implement this unique funding programme in order to be able to spread e-mobility even more quickly.”

The main benefits of the JUICE CHARGER me at a glance:

  1. Small size: With an edge length of 24 cm and a depth of 12 cm, the JUICE CHARGER me is particularly compact and, with a weight of just 6.5 kg (incl. cable), it is also very light. A 5 m cable ensures the necessary flexibility.
  2. Charging capacity: One to three-phase charging at six to 32 amps provides a charging capacity of up to 22 kW. For KfW financial support, there is a 16 amp variant with an output of 11 kW.
  3. Plug and Play: The wall box is fully preconfigured from the factory and ready for immediate use, so setup is hardly any effort at all.
  4. Plug and Charge: The JUICE CHARGER me is certified in accordance with ISO 15118. When connected to the charging socket, the charging station detects any car that currently has the plug-and-charge standard and starts charging immediately.
  5. Charging and load management: Local dynamic charging management in master-slave mode is incorporated for up to 250 charging stations. The cloud-based smartJUICE omni-dynamic load management system is available for any number of units. An MID-certified meter is integrated into every device which is intended for operation with charging/load management.
  6. Connectivity: The standardised open charge point protocol (OCPP) forms the backbone for connection to the j+ backend and facilitates device management, remote maintenance, billing or load management.
    Three standardised interfaces (Modbus/TCP, Modbus/RTU and EEBUS) ensure communication with a home energy management system. This facilitates integration of the photovoltaic system into home energy management and external load management control.
    All communication is done via the Ethernet connection. However, no permanent network connection is required for use as a private single charging station and operation is therefore also possible without a LAN connection. A notebook can simply be connected for updates.
  7. Well thought-out and safe design: The JUICE CHARGER me has a frame made from brushed chrome steel and a front made from UV-resistant polycarbonate glass. The charger is therefore suitable for indoor and outdoor use (IP54) and is extremely impact-resistant (IK10). The device can be used at outdoor temperatures of between -25 °C and +45 °C. Its temperature sensor for reduction of the charging current functions regardless of the ambient temperature. The charging station is CE-compliant in accordance with the two EMC Directives IEC 61851 and IEC 61439-7.
  8. Installation: The JUICE CHARGER me can be mounted on the wall as a wall box, but can also be installed on a pillar either individually or in pairs.
  9. Activation: An RFID reader is integrated behind the front panel. RFID activation is for all vehicles which do not support the ISO standard 15118 for ‘Plug and Charge’. The two cards supplied can easily be blocked and replaced in the event of loss. The access data can optionally also be implemented on an RFID badge.
  10. Price: EUR/CHF 999.00 less the Juice discount of EUR/CHF 100.00 for the first 3000 units. Price incl. VAT.
