As of now, the Swiss charging station manufacturer is supplying the UNIVERSAL CHARGER mobile charging station for the OPEL Corsa-e and the Grandland X.

Juice Technology AG, leading manufacturer of mobile charging stations for electric vehicles, announces collaboration with OPEL (Groupe PSA). As of now, the Swiss company will provide the UNIVERSAL CHARGER mobile charging station for the OPEL Corsa-e, Grandland X Hybrid4 and Grandland X Hybrid as the official supplier.

The sophisticated but nevertheless easy-to-use charging solutions from Juice Technology AG impress not only the drivers of electric vehicles, but also the major manufacturers in the automotive industry. Juice Technology AG is now providing the UNIVERSAL CHARGER for OPEL’s Corsa-e, Grandland X Hybrid4 and Grandland Hybrid models, and thus provides drivers of electric vehicles with a full service package from the outset.

“The development and expansion of the infrastructure is essential for the further development of electromobility. Collaboration between manufacturers of charging infrastructure and the automotive industry is therefore essential to advance this as quickly as possible. I am therefore particularly delighted to announce the partnership with OPEL. Drivers of electric vehicles now get direct access to a worry-free charging solution for at home, on the road and at public charging stations – in a single device and at a very attractive price,” says Christoph Erni, founder and CEO of Juice Technology AG.

Using the configurator, OPEL customers now have the option of ordering the UNIVERSAL CHARGER when buying a Corsa-e, Grandland X Hybrid4 or Grandland X Hybrid – suitable for the vehicles, and tested and recommended by the manufacturer.

“We have found a partner in Juice Technology AG for whom advanced technology, safety and suitability for everyday use are as important as they are to us. We offer our customers a suitable charging solution for our Corsa-e,  Grandland X Hybrid4 and Grandland X Hybrid models which is not only technically sophisticated but also, thanks to its ideal design, is also easy to use,” says Frank Leibold, Group Manager European Individualization & Accessories at OPEL/Groupe PSA.

The UNIVERSAL CHARGER is based on the technology of the bestselling mobile 22 kW charging station in the world, the JUICE BOOSTER 2. And not without reason. The JUICE BOOSTER 2 is the only standard-compliant mobile charging station in its class. The “Mobile Chargers” test conducted by the ADAC (General German Automobile Club), in which the JUICE BOOSTER 2 emerged as the test winner, also confirms this. The UNIVERSAL CHARGER has the same functions, standards and safety standards. It is also compatible with all add-ons and adapters for the JUICE BOOSTER 2. Owners of the UNIVERSAL CHARGER can therefore expand their set (incl. type 2, CEE16 and Schuko adapters) no problem.

The main benefits of the UNIVERSAL CHARGER at a glance:

  1. Charge at any socket: The UNIVERSAL CHARGER is compatible with the adapters and add-ons for the JUICE BOOSTER 2. The OPEL Grandland X and Corsa-e can therefore be charged at any socket in the world.
  2. Automatic output detection: The charging device is always set to the optimum charging capacity. This prevents overloading of sockets.
  3. Overheating protection for domestic sockets: Patented sensor technology at the plug pins ensures risk-free charging even at old sockets.
  4. The UNIVERSAL CHARGER is absolutely waterproof (IP 67) and can be driven over with a wheel load of up to three tonnes.
  5. JUICE CONNECTOR adapter plug: This is CE-compliant and designed such that it can also cover future functions. Because investing in the UNIVERSAL CHARGER should be sustainable.

About Opel

Opel is an automotive brand with one of the longest traditions in the world and is one of the largest European automobile manufacturers. Adam Opel founded the company in Rüsselsheim am Main in 1862. The company got started in automobile manufacturing in 1899. Opel has been part of Groupe PSA since August 2017. As part of Groupe PSA’s global production, research and development network, the company operates ten plants and a development centre in a total of six European countries.

Opel and its British sister brand Vauxhall are represented in more than 60 countries. The company sold more than a million vehicles around the world in 2018.

Opel is in the middle of implementation of the PACE! strategic plan with the aim of positioning the company as sustainable, profitable, global and electric. Opel is also continuing to push its comprehensive model offensive: Opel has brought eight completely new or reworked models to market by 2020 and is therefore positioning its product portfolio for a successful future in view of the ambitious global emissions targets.

Opel’s brand promise is: “The future belongs to everyone.” It underlines the aspiration to democratise future technologies and thus make them available to everyone. This position is firmly anchored in the history of the brand.

Opel is proactive in tackling the deep-seated change which the entire automotive industry is facing. The mega trends which shape the change are electric vehicles, networked and autonomous vehicles and alternative concepts in individual mobility such as car sharing or ride sharing.
Hardly any other automotive manufacturers have an electrification strategy as consistent as Opel’s: All European car ranges will be electrified by 2024 – either with pure battery operation or as plug-in hybrids (PHEV) in addition to high efficiency combustion engines. Opel/Vauxhall already has four newly electrified model ranges on the market in 2020: the Grandland X plug-in hybrid, the next-generation Corsa with a purely battery-operated variant and the successor to the successful Mokka X compact SUV and Vivaro van as electric vehicles.
