In the seven years since it was founded, Swiss technology company Juice Technology has grown significantly. All departments will have more space under one roof in the future.

Juice Technology AG, manufacturer of charging stations and software, leader in mobile charging stations for electric vehicles, has been growing constantly since 2014. With rising demand and a wider range, the turnover has tripled every year – it still doubled even in the year of coronavirus. The number of staff has also constantly increased owing to the high growth. The new site creates urgently needed space so that Juice can continue to grow successfully.

With four storeys and more than 6000 m2 of space, the new Juice building with a large-scale glass front offers plenty of space for all departments including the research and development centre and the entire warehouse and logistics division.

“A clear view, plenty of light and airy open-plan spaces create the incomparable working atmosphere in which we can continue to further build on our advantage,” Christoph Erni, CEO of Juice Technology AG, is delighted. On the ground floor, employees and visitors are greeted by a 15 metre bar with the company’s own barista. Expertly served speciality coffee and a lunch menu freshly prepared with love leave nothing to be desired. Contrary to a recognised principle from the world of IT, ‘garbage in, garbage out’, implying that nothing good can result from something bad, Erni is also concerned about the physical well-being of his crew: “We pay particular attention to the best quality in food and drinks.” and playfully adds: “Its not clear whether that’s why so many foodies work at Juice or whether that's why they work so well.”

The new headquarters is just 2 km from the former research and development site and therefore remains close to Zurich airport.

An innovation location for the future

After the first Model S from Tesla was delivered in Switzerland, resourceful founder and CEO Christoph Erni recognised the signs of the times and laid the foundations for his company, Juice Technology, which has been extremely successful since. Today, Juice is one of very few full range providers in the industry to develop and sell everything relating to the topic of charging infrastructure, from charging solutions to software, in one place.

The paradigm change in the industry is achieved. Today, there is no well-known automobile manufacturer that can avoid electrifying their fleet. Not so long ago, electric vehicles were seen as an expensive luxury for a few enthusiasts, but now there are increasing numbers of affordable vehicles on the market. One thing that has lagged behind, however, is expansion of the charging infrastructure.

Juice has ensured that fast and easy charging is also possible away from fast charging stations. With the JUICE BOOSTER 2, Juice is the undisputed global market leader in mobile 22 kW charging stations. But time doesn’t stand still and there are still plenty of exciting ideas for further simplifying the world around electromobility for drivers of electric vehicles.

“The last few months have been hugely productive. We have achieved great things with the combined brainpower of the brightest minds, brought together under difficult conditions in so little space, and I am enormously proud of that,” says Christoph Erni. “We are already working on positioning ourselves more broadly with new devices, developments and software that brings it all together and further consolidating our market position. Our new headquarters create the conditions in which our team remain as motivated and are able to invest all of their energy in further innovations.”

The move to the new headquarters on the site of the former Fraunfelder furniture store at Kasernstrasse 2 in Bachenbülach marks the start of a new chapter in Juice’s company history.

About Juice Technology

Juice Technology AG, with its headquarters in Cham (Zug, Switzerland), is a globally active manufacturer of charging solutions for electric vehicles. The company’s extensive product portfolio, with AC and DC charging stations ranging from light mobile devices through to large fast chargers, makes it one of a very small number of full-range providers in the industry. Juice has dominated the market in mobile 22 kW charging stations since 2014.

The crucial difference to other solutions available on the market is the consistent software orientation. All devices designated “J+” are based on the same processor and the same firmware, which means they are compatible with one another. Juice saves on time, effort and costs by using its own consistent software architecture. Solutions such as omni-dynamic load management, payment by credit card or the open interface backend are therefore available throughout the product range.

The Juice Group has global reach with its own sites, subsidiaries and affiliates. Juice Services AG, Juice Telemetrics AG, Juice Europe GmbH in Germany with a subsidiary in Munich, Juice Iberia S.L. in Malaga, Zhejiang Juice Technology Co., Ltd in Hangzhou, China and Juice Americas Inc. in St. Petersburg, FL, USA are part of the group of companies. It also has a global network of resellers. More than 170 people currently work in the research and development, production, marketing, administration, purchasing and sales, and logistics departments.
