The private contribution for vehicles which are used for business serves to provide proportional reimbursement for amortisation and maintenance. However, the costs for this are significantly lower for an electric vehicle than for a vehicle with a combustion engine, so the private contribution should also come down accordingly. That works in Germany, but not in Switzerland. Our CEO Christoph Erni thinks: “The result is that Switzerland actively ensures that not only are drivers of electric vehicles not subsidised – on the contrary, they are actively penalised.”
